DESCRIPTION:\n\nJoin the Virginia Glee Club on Friday\, May 17\, 2024 at 8:
 00 PM for our annual Finals Concert at the start of UVA graduation weekend
 .\n\nOpen to all parents and students at UVA\, as well as alumni and commu
 nity supporters\, Glee Club will share the music it has learned over the y
 ear\, showcasing the unique sound of tenor-bass choral sacred and secular 
 music. We will also honor those students who have been engaged in Club lea
 dership during this 153rd season\, award the VGC Singer Scholarship and bi
 d a fond farewell to those 4th (and 5th+ years) who will be graduating thi
 s year.\n\nThis concert is free and open to the public.\n\nDirected by Gra
 mmy Award winning conductor Frank Albinder\, the Virginia Glee Club is the
  oldest musical organization at the University of Virginia and one of the 
 oldest collegiate tenor-bass choirs in the nation\, founded in 1871. Membe
 rs of club come from different schools throughout the University and consi
 der themselves a “fraternity of talent”.\n\nEach year Club endeavors t
 o take a tour to share the music they have learned through the year. Last 
 year\, Club embarked on an International tour to England and Wales and thi
 s year a domestic ‘Tour of the South’ including performances and colla
 borations in Johnson City\, Chattanooga\, Atlanta\, Jackson\, Birmingham\,
  Charlotte\, and Roanoke. Selections to be performed include pieces of bot
 h secular and sacred choral traditions highlighting the unique qualities o
 f the tenor and bass voice.\n\nThe Virginia Glee Club is a 501(c)3 Non Pro
 fit organization and receives no direct funding from the University of Vir
 ginia. Club depends on the generosity of our alumni\, parents and friends 
 to continue spreading harmony\, love and brotherhood across the nation and
