DESCRIPTION:Directed by Grammy Award winning conductor Frank Albinder\, the
  Virginia Glee Club is the oldest musical organization at the University o
 f Virginia and one of the oldest collegiate tenor-bass choirs in the natio
 n\, founded in 1871. Members of club come from different schools throughou
 t the University and consider themselves a "fraternity of talent".\n\nEach
  year Club endeavors to take a tour to share the music they have learned t
 hrough the year. Last year\, Club embarked on an International tour to Eng
 land and Wales and this year a domestic 'Tour of the South' including perf
 ormances and collaborations in Johnson City\, Chattanooga\, Atlanta\, Jack
 son\, Birmingham\, Charlotte\, and Roanoke. Selections to be performed inc
 lude pieces of both secular and sacred choral traditions highlighting the 
 unique qualities of the tenor and bass voice.\n\nThe Virginia Glee Club is
  a 501(c)3 Non Profit organization and receives no direct funding from the
  University of Virginia. Club depends on the generosity of our alumni\, pa
 rents and friends to continue spreading harmony\, love and brotherhood acr
