DESCRIPTION:Directed by Grammy Award winning conductor Frank Albinder\, the
  Virginia Glee Club is the oldest musical organization at the University o
 f Virginia and one of the oldest collegiate tenor-bass choirs in the natio
 n\, founded in 1871. Members of club come from different schools throughou
 t the University and consider themselves a “fraternity of talent”.\n\n
 Each year Club endeavors to take a tour to share the music they have learn
 ed through the year. Last year\, Club embarked on an International tour to
  England and Wales and this year a domestic ‘Tour of the South’ includ
 ing performances and collaborations in Johnson City\, Chattanooga\, Atlant
 a\, Jackson\, Birmingham\, Charlotte\, and Roanoke. Selections to be perfo
 rmed include pieces of both secular and sacred choral traditions highlight
 ing the unique qualities of the tenor and bass voice.\n\nThe Virginia Glee
  Club is a 501(c)3 Non Profit organization and receives no direct funding 
 from the University of Virginia. Club depends on the generosity of our alu
 mni\, parents and friends to continue spreading harmony\, love and brother
