The Virginia Glee Club is thrilled to be performing in legendary Carnegie Hall in “Of War, Peace, and the Power of Music,” a concert honoring the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.  The Glee Club will join nine other college and high school choirs from across the country and around the world, singing both a solo set and the combined finale, the final movement from Ralph Vaughan Williams’s monumental Dona Nobis Pacem (Grant us Peace).  The performance will take place on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 2:00 p.m.

We have 250 tickets to this historic performance to share with our patrons.  Please make a donation and request your tickets by clicking this link until noon on Thursday, January 12th.  Please call the Glee Club at 434-207-8421 thereafter.  Tickets are still available, as of 1/11/17.  Our seats will be in groups throughout the hall, and the best available seats will be allocated to you in the order that you make your request.

You may also donate to support the trip without a ticket request via our regular donation page link.  Select Annual Fund and note “Carnegie” in the comments field.  Your gifts will fund approximately $17,000 in production costs, travel and lodging for all Glee Club members, so please give generously!

We are also delighted that the Virginia Club of New York will host a reception in honor of the Glee Club on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 6:30 pm.  The Virginia Club is in residence at the historic Yale Club, right next to Grand Central Station.  This cocktail reception will feature the Glee Club in a short program of UVa songs (with alumni encouraged to sing along!).  This event will be the perfect prelude to an evening in New York City.

Register for the Virginia Club of New York reception here, and find complete details and directions.  Alumni, family and friends of the Glee Club are invited to attend at the member rate.

Questions about concert tickets, donations, alternative forms of payment, ADA seating, reception attendance, or member travel plans can be directed to Jessica Wiseman, VGC General Manager, at gleeclubmanager@gmail.com or 434-207-8421.
