The start of the school year beckons, and the Glee Club officers have been hard at work to plan a fantastic season for the University’s oldest musical organization. In addition to performances at the Family Weekend Choral Showcase, our 73rd annual Christmas Concerts, SingFest and our Finals Concert, we’ll also be collaborating with the Wellesley College Chorus, singing Ralph Vaughan Williams’s Dona Nobis Pacem. Our spring break concert tour will take us to Rutgers University, where we’ll participate in the 100th Anniversary National Seminar of Intercollegiate Men’s Choruses. We’ll then perform concerts in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina Tennessee and Virginia.
If you’re interested in joining the Glee Club, an easy, painless audition is all that’s standing between you and a 143-year-old tradition. The audition sign-up sheet is on the Glee Club bulletin board outside room B012 in Old Cabell Hall. For more information, contact gleeclub-secretary@virginia.edu. Club rehearses on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 7:30 – 10:00.
