It’s really happening!  The Glee Club departs for Buenos Aires on March 4th.  CLICK HERE to check out the tour concert schedule and read more below about our planning progress!

Across the Virginia Glee Club’s 145-year history, only seven tours have been completed outside the U.S.  This is the first tour to occur since the Tour de France in 2000 and is the first ever tour to the southern hemisphere.  To say the least, we’re really excited.

We are also humbled and deeply grateful to be the beneficiaries of enormous generosity from our alumni, our fans, our families and someone called “Anonymous.” You have supported this tour, its expenses and its painstaking planning, across three seasons and three VGC executive committees and we are eager to thank you for making this tour a reality.

We are proud to say our fiscal diligence and your generosity over the past three years have paid off, and our tour fundraising is a success!  While some expenses are still ahead of us (“variable charges that will be billed after tour concludes,” reads the contract from the tour company), the essential tour costs are now paid, including full and partial fee waivers for five guys, and we’re still in the black.  Members of the Club have paid $2500 to participate in the tour, and continued gifts to the tour fund will enable us to lower the individual costs to each member in the form of a rebate after all remaining invoices from the tour company are settled.

We’ll be eager to share details from our trip when we return and encourage all our alumni and friends to attend the 145th Anniversary Reunion Weekend April 22-14, 2016.  At the banquet on that Saturday evening, the Club will perform tour concert repertoire, show photos and video, and share presentable-in-polite-company stories of the tour.

Experiences like these are somewhat addictive, and you bet we’ll be doing this again one day soon.  Thank you for your faith in us and for your continued support as we write a new chapter in the story of the Virginia Glee Club.

THANK YOU
to our International Tour Sponsors
