Welcome to the 145th season of the Virginia Glee Club! The year is full of milestone events and we look forward to celebrating them with you.
We start our season with a young, but significant tradition, the 6th Annual VGC Dinner, on September 26th at 6:00 pm. Join alumni, families, fans, old guys and new guys as we celebrate what it means to be a part of the Glee Club in high style. Reservations required.
The UVa Family Weekend Choral Showcase will be held on October 24th at 7:00 pm. Get your tickets early, as there are lots of families and fans looking for entry to this collaborative concert including the Glee Club, the Virginia Women’s Chorus and the University Singers!
Join us before the Choral Showcase at 1:00 pm in Garden V for our VGC Friends & Family Reception. Meet and greet our conductor, our guys, and their fantastic families. Open to all, RSVP requested.
This December, we perform our 75th consecutive annual Christmas Concerts! Concerts are December 4th at Old Cabell Hall and December 12th at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Charlottesville. Tickets are on sale now. Bring the whole family for a night of seasonal choral favorites and Glee Club FUN!
SingFest! opens our spring semester performances on February 6th. We are pleased to once again host this philanthropic event and collaborate with UVa a cappella groups to raise a little cash for our favorite local charities. Tickets will be available later this year.
Drum roll please…. The Glee Club undertakes its first INTERNATIONAL TOUR in over fifteen years, only the seventh overseas tour in our 145 year history, and the first ever tour to the southern hemisphere March 4th through 12th. Just a few weeks after the Club returns from South America, it’s on to Northampton! The Glee Club is honored to perform a Spring Concert with the Smith College Choir on April 9th on the Smith College campus. The program includes a major work by Gioacchino Rossini for soloists, chorus, and orchestra, as well as selections by each choir.
Proudly remaining the oldest musical organization at the University of Virginia, we celebrate our 145th Anniversary year with a Reunion Weekend April 23rd & 24th hosted by the VGC Alumni & Friends Association. Return to Grounds to sing in Old Cabell Hall, explore Glee Club archives, and enjoy music and camaraderie at a gala banquet. Reservations required. Online registration coming soon. Completing our season, the Glee Club Finals Concert is held just before our graduates set out into the world. Join us in the UVa Chapel at 8:00 pm on May 20th for an intimate and inspiring concert as we wish them well. Free and open to the public.
